Obama Happy to be a One-Term Wonder?

Have you ever seen a politician happy to only hold one term in office?

Isn’t the goal to represent the people well enough that they want to re-elect you?

So, what could possibly be the motive behind this statement?

US President Barack Obama would be fine with serving only one term if he achieved some of his most audacious goals, like his embattled health care overhaul, spokesman Robert Gibbs said.

First of all, I’m glad they are admitting these are his plans…and not what American’s want.

But, here is what Obama is saying to me: Regardless if the people want my plans or not, I’m going to pass them anyway.  Why?  Because I know what’s best for the United States, not you.

Liberals are really convincing me they really do think the Government can do things better than the people!

Don’t believe me?  Read on:

The way he approaches this issue [health care], the economy, Afghanistan, Iraq, any of these issues is not in a mode of self-preservation, said Gibbs.

Obama says he wants to take decisions “he thinks are in the best interests of the American people, not what’s in the best interest of his personal polling numbers”, said the spokesman.

We Americans don’t know what we want; we need Obama to tell us what we want.  And, those silly polls that meant so much to liberals during the Bush era – that say we don’t want BHO’s audacious goals – well, those just mean we really do want them, we just don’t know it yet.

If his plans were really in the best interests of the people, we would reward him and re-elect him to office.  The fact that he feels as though implementing his goals will cause him to sacrifice his popularity clearly states they aren’t popular programs.

This just doesn’t sound like the Obama people voted into Office…
