Ford Sales Surge in August; GM, Chrysler Fall

The Cash for Clunkers program has been called ‘disastrous,’ and the term certainly applies when relating it to Government-run GM and Chrysler.

In a month where Ford, Toyota, and Honda saw impressive sales gains, both GM and Chrysler had poor showings with both companies posting sales declines.

Yes, even despite the Government incentives…GM and Chrysler lost customers.

Why do you think that is?

Simply put: It’s because the American people are not happy with the President’s domination of the private sector, most notably by firing the CEO of GM and issuing a hostile takeover of 2 out of the 3 US automakers.

Thankfully, we still have the rights to exercise our freedom and reward the companies who remain strong.  Unfortunately, in this case it’s primarily foreign companies with Ford Motor Co. being the one exception.

It goes to show how often Government involvement, though well-intended, always backfires.
